July 25 Leftovers

One last post here before heading back to Sønderborg.

Lots of people were here in July.

Sorting after the cycling trip

I used up the last lemon-juice cube!

Wow, someone filled the little rock library!

I loved seeing so many caterpillars and butterflies.

February Leftovers

Pretty spring blossoms

I think every member of the football team rides an electric scooter.

We went to a huge estate sale and it was fun to see everything,
but I really wanted the nice drawers and cabinets.

I wonder how long this little library has been on the Pitzer campus.

"Take a Break," at a bus stop

I have a great job.

I was happy I decided to hear a student interview Nicholas Kristof.

Everyone gives away lemons, which I like.
I was very excited to find this box, which had tangerines.

Things I Did Not Buy

This is a common post when I am overseas, but why not have the same post close to home? All pictures taken today.

These looked yummy, but why were they imported from Denmark?

I found one recipe that calls for pumpkin spice
chips, but I'll stick with chocolate chips.

Even though we went to the same high school,
I don't think we eat the same kinds of food.

Walking

Cycling sometimes bothers my knee so I have been walking more. Here are treasures seen on this morning's walk to physical therapy.

from the avocado tree in the park

I wonder who put up these Dodgers decorations.

Last GOBA Post

Part One - Donuts, which was the theme this year

Part Two - water towers

made me feel like I was in college

Part Three - RAAM (deserves its own post, sorry)

We were so close to seeing two riders,
but missed them both.

I felt so lucky that we made a pit stop with about ten other cyclists and met up with a Swiss rider, Matthieu Lossel. We cheered him on

and were told by his support crew that we were the largest crowd he had seen!

You can see him riding in the Rockies here.

It was a full week!

Bits and Pieces

 Plants

Buckeyes!

So many acorns

Yew berries
I used to think this is where glue came from.

The pumpkins seem bigger in Ohio.

Animals
Deer!

Spotted lanternfly!
I knew I should squish it, but didn't want to. It flew into a spiderweb and the spider took care of the rest. Yippee.

Other
So easy to roll onto public transit,
right in the airport and close to home.

"Ride free and vote on Election Day"

The grocery store is working to eliminate food waste by discounting old produce.

The little free library at my elementary school is missing.
I hope they are fixing it up and it will return.
