We were so close to seeing two riders,
but missed them both.

I felt so lucky that we made a pit stop with about ten other cyclists and met up with a Swiss rider, Matthieu Lossel. We cheered him on 

and were told by his support crew that we were the largest crowd he had seen!

It was a full week!

I have no idea, but I used to eat them.

Polling Place, again

In March I wrote about volunteering to work four days in the polling place during the primary election. 

For the general election I asked to be closer to home and was assigned the local school district office. It the same place I go to observe the school board meetings so I familiar with both the building and the people work there.

We made it into the local paper!

October Leftovers

 

I felt obligated to cheer for the local team,
but my heart wasn't really in it.

I still love my job. We loved watching this huge truck in our residential neighborhood. It was driving onto the playground for a school event.

Someone once called the crows janitors. I am sure there is plenty for them to eat by the tables in the school courtyard.

October was a tough month.

No Turkey Trot this year.

The bright spot was the outpouring of support from friends and family. Thank you.

World Series

 

The best thing about the World Series was subscribing to newspapers from both cities so we received two special sections.

Friends invited us over to watch with them and their place was decked out. They rent their place and the owners have put many fake animals in the yard.

Inside the house everyone was dressed in Dodgers gear, 

but hats were set aside.

They even had something I had never seen, Dodgers papel picado!

Another winner of the day was a friend who also combined two celebrations.
