Last Ohio Post (for this round)

It was a good thing I packed warm clothing so I could enjoy going for walks and checking out the neighborhood.

It was cold, but I did not feel any calling to go out on the ice.

I loved visiting my old friend at the library

and going with Dad to visit old friends at the art museum.
I also love the sweater and hat Mom knit for him.

It was hard to say goodbye.

Snowprints

 Animal tracks

Walk, bike, and ski tracks

Walking carefully on sloppy sidewalks

My least favorite - clean driveway and icy sidewalk

No tracks at the train stops because it is almost solid salt!

Going Home Again

“Travel is fatal to prejuidce, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”  Mark Twain

I left my little corner and life was different.

Spring

I got to see a little bit of snow.

There were even a few flakes falling when I arrived.

Mostly I got all the beauty of spring without any challenges of winter.

So many beautiful trees!

So many different kids of daffodils

Change of Scenery

We stayed in a cabin in the mountains for a long weekend before Thanksgiving. While it did not have all the comforts of home, it was good to be in a different place doing different things without having to be with other people.

Highlights include

cycling in the snow,

beautiful views of the mountains,

and exploring the trail

at the end of our street.

Day Trip

Maybe we were so busy looking at the snow we missed our exit to catch the light rail. No problem, we just got off at another exit and there were plenty of parking spots.

Then I spent time looking down.

This is definitely the newest sidewalk marking I have ever seen.

Different crosswalk designs, the same color
as the blue honor line for the New Year's Day.
At 11:00 PM on the 31st, spectators are allowed to
move to a blue honor line marked on the street.
One more snow picture from another friend.

Triennial Event

Maybe it happens more often than every three years, but it has been a while.

Helping put on chains was a first for me.
