I am staying with other friends this time, and although I miss the view, I love this neighborhood, too!

New Terminal

The concept picture on the LAX Bradley Terminal map is not as nice as the real thing.

I like the chairs and lamps.

We had time to browse stores (iStore and Kitson) and play with guitars,
which weren't as interactive as they look.

The bathroom stalls were enormous and clean

and they had my favorite hand dryers.

And then we were off!

Weather

It is logical that the farther inland, the closer to the desert and farther from the ocean, one travels the warmer it gets.  Since it was in the mid-90sF (34C) here I was less than excited to go to a 4pm (16:00) soccer game thirty miles (48km) to the east.

At least I didn't have to run around with these guys.

But maybe I shouldn't complain about the heat because I could be traveling to Roskilde, where there is rain in the forecast every day.

At least it won't be dark.

I was very surprised and very honored to be named Claremont Unified School District Volunteer of the Year.

with the school board, superintendent, and student reps

I wasn't suspicious when D. made sure I was going to ride my bike to the meeting (so he could use the car) and didn't see him as he cycled past the window with the flowers, but I should have known something was up when he got home before 6 p.m.!  Behind this great volunteer is a great family!
